Doris Elaine Barber Van Vranken, born February 5, 1932, in Cunningham, Kansas, passed away in Dill City, Oklahoma, on April 16, 2024.

Elaine grew up and graduated from Wilmore High School. Elaine was united in marriage to Donovan S Van Vranken on February 27, 1950.

She worked as a cook for the Dill City school system for 25 years. Elaine worked for the Dill City Senior Citizen Center for 30 years. She dearly loved serving others. Elaine loved spending time with her family, had a strong faith and enjoyed attending the Dill City Baptist Church.

Elaine was selfless as exemplified by her hard work at the Senior Citizens Center for so many years. She accepted life on life’s terms. She said she had a “wild ride but would not change it for anything”. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include her children: Kathy Pekrul & husband Ronnie, Canyon TX; Donnie Van Vranken & wife Elaine, Canute, OK; Ronnie Van Vranken & wife Debbie, Wheeler, TX; Randy Van Vranken, Lincoln, AR; Mary Cook & husband Rick, Cordell, OK; 12 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren. Brothers: Earl Barber; Jim Barber & wife Alicia.Sisters-in-law: Katie Barber; Eva Johnson & husband Leroy. Brother-in-law: Sandy McVay, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her Husband: Donovan S. Van Vranken, Parents: Oscar and Roberta Barber, Brothers: Harvey and Floyd, Sisters: Marlene, Janet, and Cheryl, and Great Grandson: Seth Walker Cordell.
